Rostov-based agro-industrial group Yug Rusi has invested 44.8 million USD in its cardboard project on the premises of its subsidiary Donskaya Gofrotara.

Stora Enso is to postpone realization of the project on construction of a pulp and paper mill in the Nizhny Novgorod region for 2 years.

JSC Vyborgskaya Cellulose is to stop modernization of the mill in Sovetsk (Leningrad region) due to the delay of credit from VTB Bank.

Due to fall in demand on pulp, lack of quality raw materials and nonconformance to ecological standards the mill has not been operated since November 10, 2008.

Market pulp production decreased by 32.5% in January 2009.

JSC Arkhangelsk pulp and paper mill reduced its investment programme as much as 5.3 times.

Stora Enso will hold negotiations with the Nizhny Novgorod regional administration in the near future.
