September 20, 2009 Ilim Group of Companies launched an advanced mill for neutral sulphite semichemical pulp production in Koryazhma (Arkhangelsk region). The project on mill construction with investment volume over 38 mln EUR is included in the list of priority projects. Mill’s capacity makes up 900 ton of semichemical pulp per day or 310 thousand ton per year. The mill being launched it will allow increasing the production of semichemical pulp that is widely used in container board manufacture and at the same time decreasing raw materials consumption as compared with traditional methods for pulp manufacture. The mill's capacity is to increase by 40 thousand ton of high quality cardboard per year. Technological process was developed by Metso Paper Sundsvall AB with control system to be provided by Honeywell (Austria).
